Emily Dickey

Biography

Emily Dickey is a self taught, contemporary artist based in Richmond Virginia – painting daily out of her backyard studio. With a mother who told stories on stage and a father who painted in his free time, creativity was always respected and flowed freely in her childhood home. Now, Emily leans strongly into the art of storytelling through original, figurative folk art. Her paintings emerge through layered, intuitive abstraction paired with intentional narrative. Working across multiple mediums, she creates compositions anchored in joy, playfulness, and a deep belief in the interconnectedness of all living beings. Emily’s work can be found in galleries and private collections across the country.
