Ariane Callender

Biography

Ariane Callender is a self-taught abstract artist originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, now based in Seattle, Washington. Deeply influenced by the vibrant culture of her hometown, her work radiates with bold colors and playful compositions that reflect the spirit of New Orleans.

Callender’s artistic journey has led her to participate in multiple exhibitions in Seattle and New York City, earning her representation by galleries in Seattle, Washington, Los Angeles, California, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Houston, Texas. She was also selected for The Sweet Dreams Society Artist Residency at the Graduate Hotel in Seattle, an experience that further shaped her evolving creative voice.

Inspired by nature, diverse cultures, and eclectic fashion, Callender’s dynamic color palettes are brought to life using tactile techniques and materials, including palette knives, molding paste, and heavy brushstrokes. Each piece she creates is a deeply personal expression and meditation, often rooted in her own experiences or the world around her, and painted from a place of raw emotion.

Ariane’s goal is for her artwork to resonate emotionally with viewers, speaking to their hearts and transforming spaces into vibrant, meaningful environments. Through her unique approach to abstraction, she invites audiences to connect with her work on both personal and aesthetic levels.
