ARTIST STATEMENT 

Art is the main character.

Art should not politely disappear into a space or be hung just because it matches the sofa. A space should respond to its art – not the other way around.

As an interior designer, I start every space with art. When a collector connects with a piece, the rest falls into place. A painting that speaks to the viewer defines everything that follows. When the art is strong and resonant, the room begins to organize itself around it.

My paintings are created with that role in mind. I seek to create art with a spine. Art with expansive depth that starts conversations and can change the air in a room.

Art should lead and capture the intangible.
